Mock Draft Roundup: Final projections have the 49ers going in several directions
Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

Mock draft season has drawn to a close, with NFL Media analysts Charles Davis (here) and Daniel Jeremiah (here) submitting their final projections yesterday. Several other media members have since unveiled their last mock drafts, presenting the San Francisco 49ers with various potential scenarios.

Predicting the 49ers' actions in the first round is challenging due to the 30 selections preceding theirs. Their draft strategy hinges on events leading up to their turn on the clock.

As the 2024 NFL Draft kicks off tonight, here's a rundown of what the 49ers are projected to do at No. 31 overall in some of the final last-minute mock drafts.

Dane Brugler, The Athletic
Jordan Morgan, OT, Arizona

Brugler: "Morgan would have the versatility to move inside to guard while also being the team's eventual answer at left tackle whenever Trent Williams, who is entering his age-36 season, decides to hang 'em up."

Cris Collinsworth, Pro Football Focus

49ers trade pick No. 31 to the Las Vegas Raiders, receiving pick Nos. 44 and 77 in return.

Peter Schrager, NFL Media/Good Morning Football
Adonai Mitchell, WR, Texas

Schrager: "If Mitchell's still on the board, this pick would make some sense. Consider it insurance for a WR room that's the buzz of the league."

Trevor Sikkema, Pro Football Focus
Xavier Legette, WR, South Carolina

Sikkema: "The Niners reportedly held a formal visit with Legette at the scouting combine and also brought him in for a top-30 visit. This could open up the door for a Brandon Aiyuk trade."

Damond Talbot, NFL Draft Diamonds
Jordan Morgan, OT, Arizona

Talbot: "I think the 49ers are a perfect fit for the big Arizona offensive lineman."

Lance Zierlein, NFL Media
Adonai Mitchell, WR, Texas

Zierlein: "Height, weight and speed. Admittedly, there is still work to do for Mitchell to reach his potential, but this is a perfect team fit. Plus, San Francisco could have starting spots open sooner than later."
